Together we are Happy Cabbage Market Stall, We have been selling fresh produce to the public for over 20 years, attending small venues, events (Oakfest, Ashby Show, Derbyshire food and drink fair etc) and regular weekly mini markets across the local area (Nether Heage, Tissington and more). Our day starts at 3am at the wholesale market where we source the freshest possible produce and also collecting direct from local suppliers, hand-picking the freshest produce so customers get the best quality every day.

Soil health is paramount, a healthy soil' biome makes for more nutritious (and tasty!) veg, We're based in Ashleyhay at the dizzy height of 650ft on the edge of the Peak District. Alongside our own crops, we bring produce in from both neighbouring farms and a certified organic wholesaler which allows for a greater range of fresh, chemical free produce! Fermented goods such as sauerkraut are periodically available (when Fash has time in the kitchen!) all made from our veg.

Frieda's Little Kitchen
Homemade chutneys with a twist! First a little bit about myself. I come from a small village in the Netherlands, north of Amsterdam in what is called the top of North Holland. We lived on the outskirts of the village next to a dyke and my grandparents had a farm in the polder on the other side of the dyke. My whole family has always enjoyed cooking, probably because my grandmother taught cooking at a high school in Haarlem in her younger days. My grandmother never stopped cooking and being on a farm with a big orchard and vegetable garden, she had everything on tap. My sisters and I have clearly also inherited this love as we enjoy cooking just as much. In my late teens we moved to South Africa as a family because of my dad's job. Needless to say that this didn't go down too well with my sisters and myself. Sadly my dad passed away a few years after we moved there. We just stayed as we are a close knit family and didn't want to be apart. I subsequently married and Englishman and we moved to the UK 12 years ago with our daughter and her family. Sadly we lost my husband last year after a long illness. I started cooking from a really young age and discovered making chutneys. With Dutch/Indonesian influences as well as South African ones, I started experimenting with recipes, I have now been making chutneys/relishes by hand from my kitchen for close to 30 years. I originally made them as gifts for family and friends, but since losing my husband, now as my own little business. The recipes all date back to when I was living in South Africa and I am is still using the same original tried-and-tested recipes to this date, but now with a 5-star council hygiene rating. I make small-batch, homemade chutneys that are full of character.

All our honey is single-origin, cold-filtered, unpasteurised and comes straight from our own bees, never bought in or blended. We are proud to supply pure local honey direct to customers, as well as to independent shops, bakeries and other local beekeepers across the area.
Wiggles Lamb Co
I’m Tristan, a 21-year-old first-generation farmer from Wirksworth, Derbyshire. After leaving school, I followed my passion for agriculture and started building my own flock and business from the ground up. Wiggles Lamb Co. produces quality, grass-fed Romney lamb, raised on the hills of the Peak District and sold directly from the farm. My aim is to produce great local food while building a farming business of my own. For now Tristan's lamb comes to us FROZEN - he hasn't got fresh at the moment. It starts defrosting in our fridges and arrives partly frozen; defrost it fully in your fridge, cook within 24 hours, don't refreeze raw. We'll say here when it's fresh again.
